On March 12-14, 2010 I attended a workshop called Movers & Shakers. Luckily for me, the workshop was held in San Francisco so I was able to drive to and from the event. It started on Friday night from 7:30 - 9:30 pm and then was from 9-5 on both Saturday and Sunday.
It was exciting to find out that Louise Hay, who is one of my treasured teachers and a mentor, would be there.
The photo below is of me with Louise. I had fun talking with her while she was signing her books. She has been an inspiration to me for years and spending the weekend with her is something I will always remember.
What is a Mover & Shaker? The way Cheryl Richardson, Reid Tracy, and Louise Hay define it is that Movers and Shakers are people who want to make a positive difference in the world. They have a message to tell, in their unique ways, and feel a need to get it out to more people in order to help make the world a happier place.
Before going to the event I had wondered whether I would belong with the "Movers & Shakers" at the event. What I found was that the people who attended this event all have talents, skills, and messages that they want to share. The people I met at the event were positive, passionate, friendly, helpful, inspiring, encouraging, and fun. What a wonderful group of like-minded and kind people all in one place!
The photo above is of two of my new Movers and Shakers friends. The event was full of wonderful, inspiring, and fun people.
Reid Tracy and Cheryl Richardson make an awesome team. Reid is the president ofHay House publishing. He was very honest with all of us. He gave us tips, useful inside information, and ideas about sharing our messages with a wider audience. Reid speaks only when he has something valuable to say. Cheryl is inspiring, entertaining, and creative. She has a wealth of information and is extremely generous in sharing it. The two of them, along with Louise Hay, kept the event lively and fun.
The photo below (L-R) is of Nancy Levin, Louise Hay, and Cheryl Richardson. Nancy is the awesome event coordinator for Hay House publishing. Cheryl Richardson has been a favorite author of mine since I read her first book, Take Time for Your Life, in 2000. My life is much better than it was before I discovered Cheryl. Having her share what she has learned about being an author and how to get your message out to the world was a great gift.
I am thankful that I was able to go to this event and to meet and spend time with the people who attended it.
One of the main reasons for attending was to find out how to let more people know about a book I was inspired to write.
I wrote it to share what I've learned that has helped me feel happy and enjoy being a parent. My son was the one who inspired me to write the book. I wanted to share with him what I had learned.
What I realized during the event is that my book can help parents enjoy happier relationships with their children. It can also help them continue to enjoy their life after their children have left. As a parent, one of the things that matters most is to have a happy child.
Now I am in the process of creating my video as a followup assignment for the conference.
As a special bonus I'll include the hook for a new song I am writing about being a "Mover & Shaker."
"I am a mover and a shaker,
I'm a love and joy creator.
I love to move,
I love to shake,
And discover new ways
To inspire and create."
If you have a message you want to share with a wider audience this workshop is full of ideas, tips, and inspiration. I highly recommend Movers & Shakers!
It sounds like you would benefit from the workshop. There were people at all levels. I enjoyed the whole thing and met lots of wonderful people. Email me if you have any more specific questions. :)

How interesting..I am contemplating this workshop. What holds me back is I don't have a complete direction. I know my vision for myself but not all of the details that support it. Do you think I will still benefit from it? I clicked on this link from Cheryl's FB page..Thank you very much!
